How to Order DSL

June 26, 2008 - Verizon will not accept trouble reports from customers about Verizon based and invoiced services. Instead, Verizon requires the customer to have the ISP analyze the problem, determine that it is Verizon's problem, and report the problem to Verizon on the customer's behalf. This puts NetIn.com in the untenable position of providing free customer support for Verizon's services. We do not supply, control, or receive payment for Verizon's services. Accordingly, NetIn.com can not accept responsibility for Verizon's product, nor can we afford to provide free technical support to Verizon.

Due to Verizon's unfair policies, NetIn.com will discontinue all Verizon based DSL services as of August 31, 2008.

This is a general overview of the steps to get connected to the Internet using NetIn.com's DSL service in Verizon area. Our technical staff is ready to help you choose the services and options that fit your specific needs.

  1. Choose the level of service (i.e.: how fast) you want. There are two costs involved. One is the cost from GTE for adding DSL service to your line, the other is the Internet port charges from NetIn.com.
  2. Call Verizon's business or residential department to add DSL service to your phone line. They will tell you which service levels are available at your location, and what the monthly and install charges are.
  3. Call us to determine your IP addressing scheme. See our IP address page for more information.
  4. Get a router. You may buy a router from manufacturers such as Netopia, LinkSys, Cisco, or others. There are also many projects using Linux as a router.
  5. Call us to schedule a install date (if you get the router from us) and to setup the service. There is a one-time setup charge of $25.00 for DSL service.
  6. Setup the machines on your Local Area Network (IP addresses, domain name, server services, etc.) while waiting for the DSL install date.
